Natural materials, handcrafted details, and a carefully edited mix of contemporary and vintage influences create a residence that feels established rather than newly built. From the sunken conversation pit to the layered millwork and restrained palette, every detail contributes to a home designed to gather people, and welcome them back year after year.

While the architecture draws from midcentury modern precedents, the interiors were shaped by something less formal: the rituals of lake life. Towels draped over the deck railing. Friends staying for the weekend. Long dinners that start outside and somehow end around the kitchen island.
Designing Timber Lake wasn’t about recreating a particular style as much as carefully editing one. Every material, color, fixture, and detail was considered, refined, reconsidered, and curated until the residence felt equal parts sophisticated and effortless.
We wanted the residence to feel like a contemporary interpretation of your grandparents’ lake house – timeless, comfortable, and never too precious to actually live in. The one where someone finally took the plastic off the furniture and invited you to put your feet up.
